Now lets take a look to the past, Best Friends day 5, I didn’t actually make it out to any events, but I did make a Best Friend.

Lady Paige

She asked me if I was going and if I would be her best friend. I said yes and for the next month leading up to BFD 5 we would hold hands and walk up to people at parties introducing each other as “This is my Best Friend.” In those days there was a party every day and in the same style of “those days” we both totally flaked out and didn’t even go to BFD.

Then there was BFD 6 which was the only time I ever participated in the Scavenger Hunt and it was by far the highlight of the whole dang thing. Except for the part when my future husband lost his wallet and we’d been all over the dang city so who knew where it was and we had to stop scavenger hunting to find the dang thing, which if I remember correctly was in his messenger bag the whole time. But we Bonded and perhaps it was some of that good old fashioned BFD bonding that turned him from boyfriend into husband.

AKA My priceless Memories

By BFD 7 We were married and I was going Through my Hair Styling Phase. I was apprenticing at a salon and worked everyday of BFD, cursing the world every second and then being too tired when I got off to be much fun. I did make it out to a show or something but I barely remember it and I was super bummed about missing Hadads. I never did finish that apprenticeship, I had to get out before it killed my soul. There’s nothing like a bad hair salon to get you down and destroy such wonderful things as Best Friends Day. Especially when all your Best Friends are at Best Friends Day while you’re stuck in the West End.

And now I’m on the cusp, we all are, of BFD 9. Not only am I sick in bed with a horrible cold, but I am working another job I hate. I put in for time off and got all the days except for Saturday. My favorite day. I’ll be working 9-2. I’ll be late but I’ll be at Hadads.

I’m looking forward to Best Friends.

I can’t help but feel that this years BFD is going to be some kind of Cap Stone for me. I’ve graduated from VCU and I feel like I’ve graduated from Richmond. I could be moving on at any time.

So Here’s Some Pictures From my House

I thought all my troubles would be over if I would only find a day job. Well here’s the one week into my job update.

I don’t like going to work especially since I’m waking up at 6 in the morning to do it. You people don’t realize what a big deal it is that I’ve been getting up and going. I have never ever ever in my life gotten up as early as I have for this many consecutive days. Don’t think I’m not staying up all hours of the night dancing and talking either. I mean dancing and talking are my life and I’m not going to kill myself just so I can get a steady paycheck, because I absolutely live to dance and talk, but then again I may die anyway from exhaustion and malnourishment because who eats at 6 in the morning, and I have yet to be given a break at work.

Tomorrow morning it begins again, and then I’m leaving town to video tape a family wedding (I guess “tape” isn’t a valid term anymore but you get the point) just in time to zoom back into town for my Saturday night show (Gallery 5, Voix De Ville Follies) go to sleep and then wake up and begin another 6 day work week and of course I’ll be performing Tuesday night, after the dreaded day job, at RVAlution. . .and somewhere in there, Monday night probably, I’ve got to find the time to make an amazing costume, however politically incorrect or insensitive, I’m going to be the cutest little Indian that the “Wild Wild West” has ever seen complete with glitter war paint.

I’m also putting in a resume for a second part time job. I think I’ll like this one better. I think I have a really good chance of getting it. Currently I am planning on working both jobs, should the opportunity arise, and I plan on giving up sleep all together but perhaps I’ll finally be able to buy that Hearse I’ve always wanted and get it painted pink.
